At the time of going to press Roger Owen is actually undertaking the adventure to Mera Peak in Nepal along with NEMT's General Secretary Alistair Beeley. Roger, Chairman of NEMT from 1983 to 2001, is a self-confessed lover of mountains and mountain adventures and this latest excursion promises to be one of his epics.
Roger also chaired NEMT's weekend conference in Ballater in May of this year
which we organised to celebrate the Year 2002 as International Year of the
Mountains. His understanding of mountain issues is well respected and Roger
will doubtless be sharing more than just the adventure aspect of this expedition
with us.
