NORTH EAST MOUNTAIN TRUST - WINTER LECTURES 2020-2021A Quality Future for Mountaineers and Hill-Walkers Wednesday 13th January 2021Snow cover and climate change in the Cairngorms National ParkDr Mike Rivington
Mike, a Modeller at the James Hutton Institute, will describe the results of a research project assessing the risks to future snow cover in the Cairngorms due to climate change. Using observed weather data they assessed past trends and with UK climate projections made estimates of snow cover response to increased warming and changes in precipitation patterns. The results show there is likely to be a substantial reduction of snow cover in the future, with continued large inter-annual variability.. The meeting will be held on Zoom - details with ticket Booking via Eventbrite Time: 7.30 pm Free All welcome |
