Report on winter lecture series 2012-13
- Greg Boswell - Mixed Ambitions
- This was a breathtaking show, describing climbs from Greg's beginnings as
he powered up through grades of winter and summer climbs to become one of
the top mixed climbers in Scotland and further afield. His pics from numerous
continents, were superb, awe-inspiring in the extreme.
- Eric Pirie - Wilderness Medicine
- Eric Pirie, a long time member of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Leadership
gave an authoritative account on wilderness medicine. His talk ranged across
many aspects of the subject, using examples from across the world, and finished
with some practical first-aid advice. A most interesting evening that left
everybody in the audience with something to take away.
- Drennan Watson - NEMT Birth, Battles and Baloney
- An excellent introduction for newer, or dare I say younger members and non-members
alike, delineating the glory days when NEMT came into being. The hard work,
depth of research and persistence that paid off to save the Longhaven Cliffs
from overdevelopment was treated in Drennan's inimical style, as was the battle
for Lurchers Gully. We have a lot to live up to.
- Heather Morning - Mountain Safety
