MAR LODGE APPEAL

We have included a copy of the NTS Mar Lodge Appeal Letter with this mailing. The letter itself spells out the problem in general terms. However, the General Council thought that some more details of what the £800,000 is going to be spent on would help.

The total estimated repair cost to Mar Lodge of £800,000 is broken down below:-

• £250,000 costs of damage to 3 bridges and remedial work (this is likely to be an insurable cost)
• £175,000 repairs to 297km of footpaths which includes contractors' labour costs and machinery
• £60,000 Supplying materials to remote locations across Mar Lodge Estate via helicopter (approximately 5 days)
• £160,000 Repairs to landrover track network
• £155,000 Conservation projects across Mar Lodge Estate

Fortunately, the amount for the appeal raised to date allows NTS to move forward with confidence and begin restoring access routes through some of the most iconic Cairngorms landscapes.
