Glen Dye Moor Project

Dave Windle

I hope that you enjoyed the talk given by Megan Parker in February and that those who couldn't attend remotely were able to catch up via the recording.

Since then, things have been quiet. We would prefer to see more emphasis on natural regeneration but this project is very focussed on planting. As Megan said at the time, if planting is to work, it's vitally important to "plant the right tree in the right place". As with all projects, the time spent in planning is time well spent. UPDATES ON GROUSE MOOR AND DEER WORKING GROUPS

The Government continues to develop the detailed legislation required and is currently consulting both the public and affected parties such as land owners.

See the item in Snippets on the recent penalty applied to Millden Estate (a notorious example of "excessive" keepering).
